A lot of people find it amusing that I wear vintage everyday, even to work. Vintage pieces don’t have to look dated. My daily vintage usually involves 60s-80s pieces, where the cut is a bit simpler and easier to style with modern pieces. For special occasions, I will dress up a bit more and that allows me to wear my more special older pieces from the 40s and 50s. The key is to feel comfortable and not feel like you’re putting on a costume!
This dress is the perfect example of a vintage piece that falls into the first category. In this occasion, however, I paired it with my 1920s beaded clutch. It has to be the oldest piece of vintage I own, and even though it’s not mint (nothing that age can’t be mint anyway!) I plan to take it out as often as I can! It was one of the cloudy summer days and I was feeling mellow, so the blue touches were more than appropriate. It’s one of those power ballad days when I cranked up the stereo and played Celine Dion. Oh shut up! You know exactly what I mean :p
