This look is so simple yet adorable, it will look great on an equestrian hat, bowler hat or even a plain old baseball cap. This is a very simple and inexpensive tutorial!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Any hat (any colour) $10.00+
- Ruler or Measuring tape
- Piece of paper
- Pencil
- Scissors (Paper & Fabric)
- Hand sewing needle
- Thread
- Felt sheet < $0.50
TUTORIAL:
[ MEASURE ] – Use your flexible ruler or measuring tape to measure the width that you would like your ears to be
[ DRAW ] – With a piece of paper, draw a 2″ × 2″ × 2″ triangle (you can adjust the size)
[ CUT PATTERN ] – Cut out your triangle pattern piece
[ POSITION ] – Test your pattern piece out for size
[ ROUND TIP ] – Snip the tip of your triangle pattern piece to a rounded tip.
[ PIN PATTERN ] – Pin pattern piece to felt
[ CUT FELT ] – Cut felt triangle out. Repin pattern piece to felt to cut out second ear
[ SEW ] – Hand sew the ears in place with a simple straight stitch along the bottom edge of the felt to the hat
