This season we saw a darker, tougher Vena Cava than what I at least normally associated with the six year old label. Studs, moto jackets, exposed zippers, tie dye leggings and metallic fringe were all proof of Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock leading their Vena Cava girl in a downtown chic direction similar to what I felt Alexander Wang did for his own line last fall. Perhaps the most memorable detail from the collection were the holographic sequins which were not only incorporated into the clothes but also the presentation space- smashed CD’s filled the inside of the triangular platform the models stood on. Very rock and roll.
-More cut outs. This is getting crazy.
-The shoes have lots of DIY potential. Any of you Chictopians up for it?
-Seeing fashion baby and parents dancing around during the presentation was perhaps the cutest thing I have ever witnessed.
