To start things, I’d like to say Bruno Pieters has been a M-A-J-O-R I-N-S-P-I-R-A-T-I-O-N these days.
I just had to do it: get all inspired by Bruno Pieters’s SS09 collection for Hugo. It was the one thing that got me into major worship of Mr. Pieters and now, I couldn’t get enough of his clothes! Alas, another Belgian designer to worship! As I’m aware that not in a thousand light years will Hugo be available in poor Manille so why not just experiment it yourself and feel the vibe with the help of your own wardrobe and soi-disant resourcefulness. Et finalement, it ended up as something I truly adored.
Somehow, I kind of think of it as a bastardization of the le smoking look. Evidement, I made the look very casual by opting to pair that Dries Van Noten cropped blazer and Thomas Pink dress shirt with a pair of gray drop crotch trousers. I’m seriously having a certain fascination with the le smoking look that one of my most recent purchases is a tuxedo-esque blazer and what will inevitably next is a cummerbund. At this point, I seriously wish there were stores here like Thomas Pink, Eton shirts, Kilgour, German chemisier Van Laack, Gieves & Hawkes, Church’s, Crockett & Jones, etc. to answer to my needs.
