Sewing Misadventures

Sewing used to be one of my favorite hobbies, but these days it’s difficult to find time for it. Over this past summer, I tried to start a dress using McCall’s 6503 in dress B, but it wasn’t until this past Thanksgiving break that I was able to actually finish it. I used this light blue and white striped seersucker fabric from Beverly’s, though it is quite thin for this dress and will require a slip underneath. Although I probably will not wear this until the warmer months, I love how summer-y this dress is. It rather reminds me of both Zooey Deschanel and the nurse uniforms the midwives wore on “Call the Midwife.”
