enim jackets are a bit of a touchy subject for me. They’re another one of those pieces that I’m always extremely envious of when sported by other people, but as soon as I pull one on my torso is more or less transformed into a dark blue box. Somehow, all of that un-malleable, thick-farbric-ness just doesn’t fit my torso in an even remotely flattering fashion, so I was pretty psyched when I found this pre-worn version hiding behind severally overly screen-printed t-shirts at Topshop. The more supple fabric is just a million times more comfortable and, I’d like to think, even vaguely flattering to the point that I could literally wear it everyday if I didn’t think that people would judge me for that in approximately the same way they judge old men who change shirts in public.
It’s exactly this little attention to detail that has made the Topshop website one of my favorite sites to full on stalk as of late. All of their pieces have that perfect mix of fun edge and honest wearability that could make even a phenomenal klutz like me look at least a little like that one glamorously aloof girl at parties. You know the one I’m talking about. Aesthetically, Topshop kind of reminds me of Forever 21, except their pieces are like, a million times more durable and shopping there doesn’t give me a raging headache or make me temporarily resent tweens and everything that they stand for.
Also, I think I’m kind of back on jewelry again. For a while there any attempts at accessorizing just felt a little contrived, but recently I’ve realized that my outfits seem a bit…sparse. So expect a little more bling in the future. (God, I can’t believe I just typed the word bling. It just feels so wrong…)
