Here’s the thing, yes Thuy’s line was not incredibly unique or edgy, but on the other hand, I think the elegant, wearable and stunning pieces trump all notions of boredom. The line was mainly composed of femininely cut dresses and frocks, pieced together with outwear seperates. And while the show started out with a parade of blacks and greys, it was refreshing to see the palette transform to deep blues and yellows.
But the thing about fashion shows goes beyond the clothes themselves—the energy from the music, crowd and lighting can make a show. So, no wonder I was a little excited to hear the models strutting to “The Virgins” instead of the same old, same old techno/hip-hop shizzz at all the other shows.
