This particular day was all about chilling and checking out the cafes and restaurants for breakfast, lunch, pastries and dinner :) Basically we walked around and tasted everything there was to be tasted ;) I discovered that the basic ham and cheese toastie is a veeeeery popular thing in Portugal :) They serve it in almost every restaurant and cafe :) One of the waiters even gave me a special version of it in the shape of a heart (though my hubby wasn’t too impressed ;) )
Portuguese people are very nice, but they are also veeery relaxed…sometimes maybe too relaxed – if you are going for lunch and you are hungry you better be prepared to wait ;) my heart shaped toast was lovely but a bit cold ;)
Anyway, as we didn’t have anything specific planned, I went for a very comfortable outfit, which we decided to photograph during one of our stops.
We went to see the 25th de Abril Bridge that’s crossing the Tejo river in Lisbon with the Cristo Rei statue in the background. For a moment there I felt like I was in San Francisco or Rio :)
I wore the denim shorts which I love! They go with everything, are comfortable and I can make use of them throughout the whole year – even during the winter simply by adding a pair of tights, cosy sweater and boots.
You are definitely going to see them again in some of my future outfits ;) And if you don’t have a pair, you should definitely get at least one as they are a ‘must have’ of this season and I’m sure of many seasons to come! ;)
Denim has been, is and always will be in! So you can’t really go too far wrong with it! I like to invest in timeless denim pieces as I know I can always go back to them.
Here I paired the shorts with a denim jacket (I love double-denim combos!), an oversized tee, with a little bit of sparkle, and to spice it up a bit more I mixed in some animal print, and a red statement necklace. Even with casual clothes you can always play with the accessories to make it a little bit different :)
