I’ve been trying to figure out how to wear this denim bustier for a while now…earlier attempts included stacking it on top of some vintage shorts in an even darker wash and cinching it over some pretty basic t-shirts-neither of which looked quite…right. This combination happened when my alarm didn’t go off and I was scrambling to get dressed a few days ago. A button down shirt seemed like it might work just a little better for layering than some of my previous attempts and this sheer Forever 21 version was the closest available option. The silhouette proved kind of interesting upon closer inspection in a storefront window reflection later that day (store patrons only kind of realized that I was evaluating my outfit) but this shirt was definitely not meant for windy conditions. Learned that the hard way while running some errands in West Hollywood and ended up tucking in the tendril-esque lower half of after the millionth wind gust and subsequent uncomfortable midriff reveal. So, I’ll definitely be wearing this shirt again…just on a less gusty day.
