Hi Uglies! I’m finally in New York for my first time. It is amazing here! Yesterday it was non-stop running around the city. After getting off the plane from a horrible red-eye flight, I went straight to my friends place and only had a chance to shower and change and off to the tents I went. After getting lost on the subway, walking for what seemed like miles and completely stressing out from how freezing and tired I was I finally made it to Bryant Park. It was overwhelming how many people were there and they’re all so beautiful and intimidatingly well-dressed! After people watching with Juliana for a couple hours it was finally time for the Nicole Miller show I was to attend. The show was amazing! It was so weird seeing models in real life-Tanya D. Siri, Iekeliene, Hye-they were all there! The clothes were really wearable, someone in their 20’s or 40’s could easily rock the same pieces. I really liked all the coats and the distressed leather jacket with a high collar that Alana Zimmer rocked. A lot of the dresses and tops had a cool geometric spiderweb design which I really liked, especially the ones with bolts of red going through because it reminded me of a black widow. Oh and seeing editors in real life is asdhfldsa!! Kate Lanphear is SO BEAUTIFUL.
Well after Nicole Miller I rushed to Lorick which was showing at a gallery space on 11th and 45th. Frankly, I was a little disappointed in this collection. It didn’t seem very cohesive and some of the construction of the pieces weren’t very clean especially the ones with the sheer silk panels. The space, music and ambiance however, were great and very romantic. I was hoping to see some of the actors from Gossip Girl but they didn’t come or maybe I just didn’t see them :(
Well after that show, I rushed back to my friends place in Union Square, picked up my first meal in 30 hours- chicken mcnuggets! Scarfed it down, changed and took the subway (and didn’t get lost!) to the Chictopia party at Le Royale. It was great seeing everyone there and hope everyone had a fun time!
Yesterday was seriously one of the most stressful days ever. 30+ hours of no sleep, no food plus running around in heels and getting lost but, it was also the best day ever! I seriously love New York! It is such an amazing city. I’ve never seen so many good-looking, impeccably dressed people concentrated all in one place.
Ok I gotta run uglies, catch you guys later! Stay tuned for more updates tomorrow on the threeASFOUR presentaion I’m attending tonight and more of my weather bitchin’, subway hatin’ but New York lovin’ rants.
xoxo,
Linda
