I was initially looking for a peplum belt made with leather, I actually wasn’t sure if it’d be a belt at first because all I wanted was a detachable peplum piece so I can wear it with anything and everything. Now, the difficult task was to look for a finished product which I had a really hard time with, leading me to search for fabric stores as it got to a point where I gave up looking for a finished product- yes, I was going to make it myself… and I don’t even know how to sew! haha. Yeah, so unfortunately (or fortunately), that failed because I couldn’t find a leather shop, and when I was just about to give up, I found out that Zara had a peplum belt, and of course, I was like, “YESSSSS!!!!” Excited, I visited Zara in Myungdong, only to walk out empty handed and disappointed after finding out that it was sold out. I found it weird that the Zaras in Seoul were not able to communicate with each other, as the sales rep said there is no way for them to check with other stores. Major bummer. So I proceeded to personally check with other locations such as one at Coex Samseong, Hongdae, and Garosugil only to learn that they are sold out literally everywhere!!! Grr. So this dress was my alternative. Yeah, that’s the story behind it and sadly, I’m not all that happy with the dress either but it is what it is. Wish I was trained enough to not only have ideas of things I want to wear, but to make them into reality. Need to hire a tailor sometime… soon.
