Sometimes you come across an opportunity and you just need to go in there and grab it. Gem and I were shooting this Maurie and Eve dress in the city and were location scouting, when we decided that a church would be the best place to shoot this dress, considering its demure neckline and classic style. Once we got there, we realised that I was wearing the EXACT same colour as the bridal party of a couple getting married there. Awkward.
We hung around suspiciously until everyone went inside for the ceremony and started shooting when we noticed their gorgeous wedding car – a vintage Merc. While I’m no expert on cars, we were both smart enough to run over there while everyone was inside and take some shots and make the best out of an awesome situation. The car was stunning, and the dress looked incredible next to it. We were SO excited about the photos, we were basically squealing (but we had to keep quiet because there was a couple getting MARRIED about 5 meters away. Whatever.)
In the end it was definitely worth it – the entire time we were freaking out that someone would come outside and see us freeloading off the newly weds wedding car – Luckily, we weren’t caught! Sometimes, a dress deserves such risks.
