Sarah_Colee 's Thoughts:

I am now officially and safely back in England, despite my horrendous flight home. Sat behind me were two young toddlers; one of which thought it appropriate to kick the back of my seat for two and a half hours, whilst the other felt it necessary to scream at the top of his lungs for a similar amount of time. In addition to this disorderly-duo, there were numerous young children acting in the same manner on what could only described as a flight from hell, to say the least. Some of you may disagree, but children like those are the reason I cannot stand kids. When was it decided among society that perpetually howling, bald, toothless tots were cute?! It angers me no end that women are expected to magically transform into baby-making-machines once they reach the age of thirty- it’s not as if we have a worldwide baby shortage on our hands! But who would impose such a dreadful construct upon us? There’s only one answer to this question: the patriarchy. Anyway, I’ll conclude this minor rant for now, and get on with the rest of the post.

I saw a very similar skirt to this one on Lucy from Lulutrixabelle, and I immediately felt an inclination to own one myself. I was planning on ordering one from Asos, however whilst I was in Spain I popped into Primark for a much-needed umberella- the phrase “the rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain”, massive lie- and I came across this one in the sale for a mere €3. It’s actually a pencil skirt, so it sits just below my knee, however I felt it didn’t quite suit me as much as I had hoped, so I decided to roll it over at the top to make it into more of a bodycon skirt. I love how something which would traditionally be considered office-wear can be transformed into a much more casual look, courtesy of various layers and an oversized band tee. This necklace is also a recent purchase of mine, and it only cost me £1.50! Ebay is absolutely fantastic for cheap replicas of jewellery from the highstreet, as you can purchase the majority of it for under £2. Although the seller was located in Hong Kong, and thus the package took roughly three weeks to arrive, it was definitely worth it due to the incredibly low cost and free postage and packaging. I’d highly recommend purchasing clothing or accessories from distant sellers, as it’s certainly less damaging to your wallet than, say, a necklace from Topshop.

Although it’s only been a week since my previous post (the usual extent of my interludes), I’ve been feeling quite disconnected from the blogosphere as of late. Luckily I still have another week left off school, so I’ll put in the effort to post more frequently during this period.

Hugs and kisses, Sarah xo
