Lately, Refinery 29 has been doing more commentary posts which I’m always a fan of. One of the best so far was Is Fashion Week Losing Touch With…Fashion that talks about the high school-ness of the fashion industry and the front row popularity contests at fashion week. Thought I’d link it in case anyone missed it. I wish they had taken a more optimistic approach to the changes that social media brings to the fashion industry, but I’m sure those who truly appreciate design don’t let the changing atmosphere get to them. And also— seating arrangements and other superficial successes do not bring personal happiness. I’m ranting.
Also, I only just learned of Victoria’s Secret “Go East” lingerie line (which you can read about here) and the tragedy of 15-year-old Amanda Todd (you can watch her video story on bullying here). Everything I’ve been reading this week has been making me cringe. You can find all of the must-read news over in EIU’s weekly what you should be reading post.
