Bronze: How to Sport Metallics this Fall. It’s getting cooler but the weather here is bipolar enough to give us a few days of sunshine and 70 degrees, so shorts are still an option! It snowed yesterday and it’s nice and warm today… very strange. I have to say I dread the winter more and more every year. Sadly, I hate cold and I hate snow so I probably should have gone somewhere warmer for college! I have my first big exam today and I’m super nervous. Astronomy is not my forte, no science class really is but I have to take a few to graduate (and I’m a quite mad about that as I will never at any point need to know any of this stuff) but oh well. What can you do!
I found these amazing bronze shorts (they look kind of taupe in the picture) at Forever 21 awhile ago and they didn’t fit so they sat in my drawer for over a year (I think). I found them this last week and for some weird reason they decided to fit this time! I’m really not sure why since I nothing else fits differently but anyway, I love them and I really wanted to incorporate them into a look! Gold is a really hot trend for this fall but while I love metallics, I haven’t found any gold items that I’ve really taken a particular liking to so I’m going to go with gold’s fabulous cousin, Bronze! This hue is perfect for Fall’s richer colors and textures. Cozy sweaters can be made modern with these satin shorts, or go with a chiffon blouse, like myself, for a more classic look. Fall is all about playing with textures so the wispy sheer blouse and satin sheen of the shorts play nicely off of each other. When you have such a plain top like this you’re going to want to add visual interest. Here, I chose a bronze fringe necklace to pick up on the bronze in the shorts. It’s a nice touch because it really pops against the white blouse and keeps within the bronze theme!
For colder climates: If shorts really aren’t a good idea for you at this time of the year, I recommend a bronze jean or trouser (even Harlem pants would be cool in bronze!) and pair it with a crisp button down top in a neutral color like black, white, or cream. For another layer, add a blazer with clean lines to keep it from overwhelming the outfit. A pair of black or beige suede pumps will finish the look off nicely (the suede will mix nicely with shiny pants— I don’t recommend going with a patent leather finish as it will be too much shine for one outfit!)
