Bonjour tout le monde! Comment ça va? Now that I got off to such a sophisticated start, I actually plan on continuing in a similar vein… Yesterday my friend Becky and I went to the annual Slutwalk in London and it was such a fabulous experience! For those of you, who are unfamiliar with the concept, Slutwalk is a movement about shaming the victims of rape and pretending like it is permissible to abuse women simply because they choose to dress provocatively. Slutwalk is based on the “radical” notion, that nobody deserves to be raped. I feel like this resonates well with the fashion community – how many times have YOU felt uncomfortable walking through a dark alley in your high heels? How many times have bypassers made uncomfortable (and unwarranted) comments about your appearance? Street harrasment is something women have to put up with on a daily basis and I believe it is time to stop! The walk was an amazing experience and it was very nice to see women stand up for themselves and say no to mindless abuse. This marks the end of my rant – but please think about my words :) Have a lovely day <3
