Posting has been a little sporadic lately on account of the relative inefficiency of my parents’ laptops, but now I’m back in L.A. so normalcy should be restored (I feel the need to warn you that at this point of night-time lateness I’m exhausted enough that proper verb tenses no longer have a place in my life). Most of my time in Portland was spent wandering local stores with family/skirting responsibilities/experimenting with how many fall layers I can wear without overheating to an obvious point.
There are so many rad vintage stores in Portland that it really is a challenge to keep a few bills in your wallet, and after a mommy-and-me Friday afternoon and a Saturday mall crawl with my sister my purse was significantly lighter than I’m comfortable with. By the time I was scraping the bottom of my change purse trying to score a final Portland cappuccino I was open to pretty much anything that would distract me from the velvety vintage (specifically a crushed blue velvet blazer that would have been so right in my closet), so when my gaze alighted on that lovely little black and white MAC awning I immediately gravitated towards it-trusting my complete lack of makeup skill and relative aversion to anything with color to keep my last bit of spending money safe.
I almost made it out damage free…Really, I was on my way out the door and to the safety of the car when this citrusy lipstick caught my eye-matte, not too in-your-face orange, and wonderfully smooth. I’m not a lipstick person in any way, but there was no way that schmear was not going on my lips. I really wish I could remember the name of the color, but it somehow slipped my mind sometime between eating the black bean and spinach bowl on 23rd and taking an obsessive number of photos of aged dandelions. If it happens to work its way back into my consciousness I’ll be sure to post it.
