I love shift-dresses in general. They’re my lazy day work staples, specifically for days when I don’t really want to look stiff, over-dressed, and overly-corporate. This dress in particular, is simply divine. I love the quirky peacock print, and I love the elegant peek-a-boo detail on the back. I think both details offset the conservative cut. Plus, it’s very flattering on my frame–it makes me look leggy and slim.
Our little secret? I got this dress for only 600 pesos. Roughly 15 USD for something fully-lined underneath and brand new. When I tell my friends this, they always, always, would let out an incredulous squawk. And again, I don’t mind, I’m totally okay that they’re finding it so hard to reconcile the fact that I’m wearing something inexpensive. I think it’s a compliment in itself. It means that I’m able to carry the dress and make it look like it’s worth thousands–either that or I’ve a good eye for purchases in general and I can find something affordable for something that actually looks like it costs so much more.
