So mint has ALWAYS been one of my favorite colors. When I started working on the novel I’ve been trying to write for the past six years I made it the main female character’s signature color, in fact. (Though in the book, I think I’ve always described it as ‘sage’…but in fact, I mean this very of-the-moment shade). It used to be so difficult to try and find clothes in this color, however, and trust me I have been looking since way before this summer when mint became the ‘it’ hue. I’m just glad it did :-)
And may I also say, that while some people find the high-low or ‘mullet skirt’ to be overstaying its welcome in our closets and on our runways, I have to say that as a girl with a larger bottom I am also all for this trend. Hooray for making sure I finally don’t have to spend my entire night awkwardly pulling my skirt down in the back!
Lastly, totally didn’t think about how all of the pieces I put together (save for the belt) are from modcloth.com. But they ARE one of my favorite sources for new clothes, so it’s not surprising that my closet managed to yield that result.
(oh and the supplemental photo is apparently what my camera thinks I would look like as a ghost hehe)
