I wrote that because I live in the south. Get it? Haaaa.
I begin my stay on CoedUgly, nerves wracked with the pressure of having to fill the incredible (Prada labeled) shoes of a personal favorite, Annabel! But I’m hoping that I can segue seamlessly and offer whatever random tidbits I can about the life of a co-ed living off the sale rack, instant food and reality television. I’m beginning to think writing on here will just be a testament to how boring I am.
I suppose introductions are only fitting so Hello, I’m Kristine! I’m 21 and a senior at good ol’ Florida State University (GO NOLES!) so any Gators can just discontinue reading as of now. Just kidding. I major in Merchandising because I love fashion and will probably never love things like string theory just as much. Besides that, words, books and writing have own my heart so you can imagine how thrilled I am to be combining the two on CoedUgly!
I have about four weeks left here in Tallahassee until I’m off to bright lights, long nights, party ’til the sun is rising in New York City for an internship in – what else? – Fashion. I promise to document the hilarity of my struggle to make rent and say no to sample sales.
If anything, I hope that writing here will help at least one person make his or her way through this weird in-between stage of life as I am right there with you. I promise to guide you through the important questions this stage is inevitable to bring, like how to make a stand out resume, what it’s like to interview for the first time and what shoes to wear with a cap and gown. I graduate on May 1st (yaaaa!) during what I’ve been told is the worst time to enter the work force in the history of work forcing…ism. But! I’m staying optimistic through it all. Take that, economists!
Like so many of you, my adventure is only beginning. Maybe we can hold each others’ hand as we travel together down the turbulent road toward our as yet intangible dreams in nothing less than insensible shoes.
Cue: Britney Spears – I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman.
