“Briwok designer Taryn O’Flynn created her accessory line as a way to keep her late best friend Brianne alive through design. Founded on Bri’s free spirit and badass style, Briwok is both a memoriam and original way to tell the story of two best friends.
Briwok the Ewok was a nickname Taryn had given Bri that was endearingly inspired by her chubby cheek
s, hippie headbands and love of Star Wars. Their friendship was a whirlwind of thrifted flannels, bear tooth necklaces and rings for each finger; their spirits highlighted by cheap liquor and heavy jams. They created a lifetime of memories and stories that would make any responsible adult shake their head in disapproval.
When Bri passed away in a tragic accident in 2009 Taryn searched for ways to keep her best friend a part of her life. It took nearly 2 years before she realized that she could combine her creative passion for jewelry making in a way of carrying on the style, carefree personality and soul of Bri. This catapulted her into a full on obsession with creating unique and interestingly different pieces to adorn the body in chains, crystals and gemstones. Her taxidermist tendencies incorporate animal teeth, bronzed spines, claws and quills quite regularly.
Taryn continues to have a steady stream of inspiration from her beautiful soul sister. Each piece is not only a story of friendship everlasting but a way for Bri to live on enjoying the beauties of life as she would have."
