I’ve always been fond of novelty prints, especially those reminiscent of childhood picture books detailing the life of a lonesome cowboy working a ranch in the west. My two favorite clothing items as a child were a pair of brown and tan cowboy boots and a paisley print vest with leather fringe. It is no surprise that when I spotted this handmade vintage dress in an antique store in Ronhert Park, I fell in love with the print, cut out detailing, and silhouette. The dress was only $12.00, making it both a lucky find as well as a new summer staple. My 1950s cowhide purse has been a longtime favorite in my closet due its intricate detailing and its interior tooled leather design. It seemed like an appropriate companion for my western-inspired getup and curls.
