I am feeling patriotic after the Olympics has started in my home city. Apart from the Queen picking her nails when team GB paraded at the Opening Ceremony (how funny is that little lady?!). I felt the opening was fantastic and very eye catching. It was very British orientated, so I do wonder how it translated overseas.
Danny Boyle had focused a section on the Industrial revolution which was pioneered in the United Kingdom and a major turning point in history. People were moving on from manual and animal based labor to machine based manufacturing, which actually started off with textiles. Sadly these days it is incredibly rare to find a garment made in the UK.
One of my Favorites for pretty little dresses is Jones + Jones (wearing the Liberty Print cut out Saffron dress from Jones + Jones above). They are feminine, floaty, quirky and best of all…made in Britain!
