It doesn’t feel like much of an exaggeration when I say that everybody’s favorite movie to draw style inspiration from is Almost Famous, the 90s hit about the 70s rock n’ roll roadie scene. I reference it constantly as a fixture of vintage fashions and have composed two posts in the past citing the film as a major sartorial influence. Once before, I named my ensemble (featuring this same shag jacket and floppy hat combination) after Penny Lane, the film’s token blonde groupie played by Kate Hudson. This time, my look is titled after what was her character’s real name: Lady Goodman.
In all honesty, traveling on the road with a bunch of rockstars seems like a terrifying enterprise… I’m a deeply emotional person who values stability, even if it means that I’m stuck somewhere boring for months at a time. I imagine that I’d lose my mind after nights of hardcore partying and noncommital hook-ups with hot but shallow band guys. Apparently that has something to do with me being a Taurus. Lack of interest in the lifestyle this aesthetic entails is no matter at all… the shoe fits and looks damn cute. I’ll walk the walk on my own terms, thank you very much!
