I’m an Air Force brat. Growing up under a military environment made me very strict and punctual. Annoyingly punctual, actually. It affected my upbringing very much and I’m thankful for it. I wanted to marry Maverick in “Top Gun” and loved the idea of being myself a fighter pilot. So it’s no surprise that I went right for this real camouflage uniform when I saw it on a thrift store on Brick Lane during my last trip to London. It belonged to a rather petite sergeant, judging by the size of it. This is a look that’s very dear to my heart, since it reminds me of the man of my life, my wonderful father, who is my pillar and the person I admire the most. I remember watching him with his perfect uniform, standing tall and proud, and just wanting to be at least half the person he was. I miss him every day.
Hope you like the result of my madness.
