When looking at FashionCoolture’s looks, one could easily conclude that the gal was a chic European. Although this Style Icon is inspired by Europe and its arts, she’s actually Brazilian! Juggling from being a shop owner to professional blogger, the international blogger welcomes everyone into her fashion life by communicating in both Portuguese and English. Given that her real name is Flávia, she certainly does have a lot of flavour when it comes to styling her outfits! Let’s get to know more of who this Brazilian beauty is all about.

Congrats on being one of Chictopia’s Style Icons! How would you describe your style, and how did you discover it?
Really thank you, I’m so glad to be one of the Chictopia’s Style Icons! I never really know how to describe my style and if you check my looks here you will totally understand me. I don’t have a specific style, I like to play with everything and try different things without fear[ing] that something doesn’t fit my style.
What made you want to start your own blog?
I love photography and some years ago I started a self portrait gallery at DeviantArt. In 2010 I was a big fan of street style blogs and sites like Chictopia, [so I] decided that I should try some outfit pictures. I totally loved the experience and started my own blog, Fashion Coolture.
Even though you’re a Brazillian blogger, we notice you sometimes write in English. Have you ever thought of blogging in all English?
Yep, I don’t feel really confident in my English, but sometimes I also try to write in English cause I know that there are some international readers that don’t speak Portuguese. [Thus,] I always write the credits of the outfit in both languages.
Who or what are your fashion muses?
Well, there are so many inspiring people, but I especially like “real people” [from] all over the world, [like] in street style pictures.
Any tips for Chictopians on trying to find the right style?
It’s really simple, just be yourself and try to have fun with your clothes, try it without any fear.
Not only does Chictopia feature style, they also sell stylish clothing! Which are your top 8 items from Chictopia Shop?
1. Bless’ed are the Meek Maxi Dress (Thrifted & Modern, $248)
2. Spike and Pearl Necklace (Minusey, $40)
3. Zip Up Leatherette Skirt (Shop Royal Mint, $40)
4. Hi Low Silk Pocket (Publik, $34)
5. Shakuhachi Burlesque Borders Split Sleeve Dress (Koshka, $255)
6. Black Envelope Clutch (Jill Pineda, $24)
7. Chiffon Dipped Hem Dress (ClubCouture, $139)
8. Miista Ori Cut Out Platform (Thrifted & Modern, $220)
Are you currently working in the fashion industry?
Right now I’m working only on my blog and it’s a great experience, trying new outfits everyday, taking pictures, having the chance to know many people and [looking into] new stores. I’m not sure about [making] it [into] a career, cause actually I graduated with a law degree, but let’s see what’s coming next!
If you had a best friend who was clueless about fashion, what 3-4 things would you tell her that she should have in her closet?
Hmm, I would start with a black blazer cause it’s classic and can easily improve an outfit. I would also recommend a leather jacket, a lace dress, and some really high heels.
What’s THE most favorite item you’ve been wearing (or want to wear) this summer?
Well, it’s kinda cold in Brazil right now (we’re waiting for winter!), it will take sometime [for] summer, but I can’t wait to wear some pastel tone clothes and lots of lace.
