Here’s what I wore to the opening party of an exhibition by Ger Doornink last week. What I love most about these parties (besides nice people, beautiful art and free drinks) is that it’s the perfect excuse to dress up a little and go for a dress and heels. I decided to step away from the black and pastel colored dresses I normally wear and go for something bright blue again. I guess I like this color so much because it’s not something I would normally wear, which makes it special when I do. I also really like the simplistic and classic cut, I’m thinking of also getting it in red. It’s very decent but at the same time really feminine without showing too much skin or being too body con. I think it also works great with bare legs, sandals and sunglasses for those hot summer days in the city.
I also took the opportunity to take out another pair of Guess shoes! Meet my other Guess shoes’ little sisters. Their colors are pretty much the same but the heel is different, and these are much, much less comfortable. My boyfriend basically had to carry me home due to a combination of alcohol, the definitely not heel-proof streets of Amsterdam and very very sore feet. Nevertheless I do think these shoes are beyond gorgeous. Although I think they look best with bare toes, they also tend to work with tights and I love how the pink of the sole contrasts with the blue of the dress.
