I grew up in a family that loved nature. When I was a kid (and, more honestly, to this day) my parents would take my siblings and I on caravan holidays to the Lake District or to Wales, where we would spend our time trudging up hills through forests – one parent gripping a pair of over-size binoculars to their face and the other trying to juggle a coffee flask and an enormous map! I probably resented my parents a bit for making me wear a hideous anorak and hike through a forest in the rain when I was little, but now I am grateful for it because gave me the chance to appreciate nature and get rid of my excess energy climbing trees outdoors rather than shouting at a playstation screen.
Anyway, the point of that story is, when I saw this Woodland/forest print dress on Romwe featuring an assortment of Woodland creatures and some rather randomly thrown in parrots (?!) I just knew I had to have it; it really reminds me of my family and my childhood. I am so glad that I saved up for the dress and pre-ordered it, despite it taking so long to come because of the whole pre-ordering thing…it actually felt like I had received a present through the door because I almost forgot I’d paid for it haha :)
The material is really high quality, though a little see-through at the back, and to be honest – I don’t think it’d look out of place in a posh store like Reiss!
I wore it with models-own green beetlejuice nail polish and cinched it in at the waist with a brown belt, as I felt that the earthy colours would go with dress well. I couldn’t resist breaking this pattern by adding a neon spiked necklace and bracelet from New Look though – spikes truly are my weakness haha!
