So, now that you’ve rid your closet of all those unnecesary items it’s time to start building your new wardrobe and essential to every wardrobe are classic, reliable basics. Not everyone is as enamored with basics as I am, but I consider them completely necessary to have a satisfactory wardrobe. You may not wear that bright pink, voluminous dress every day of the week, but you will wear that classic LBD or perfectly fitting pair of dress pants.
Basics should be simple, comfortable pieces in basic colors that you can turn to any day of the week and feel wonderful in, so they won’t be the same items for each person, but here are some I consider essential to my own wardrobe:
-black blazer
-black or tan trench coat
-moto-style jacket
-white/black tees/tank tops
-black & dark blue jeans
-black pants
-black pencil skirt
-little black dress
-black tights
-black pumps
-flat black boots
-high heel black boots
-oxfords
Like I said, for you or anyone else, what are considered basics may vary, but the key is that they should be comfortable, reliable and versatile items.
