I love black, white and red together. It’ll never go out of style. Also, I really do have two legs, I swear. The other one’s back there somewhere. ;)
I’m also trying not to lose my balance, so I’m holding my right arm out strangely. It wasn’t a good day for pictures, as a thunderstorm had just gone through. Those steps were slippery!
The shoes were my grandmother’s. They’re the only style shoe she would wear, ever. We (the family) used to roll our eyes when she’d wear them even to go up to the barn, but she would shrug and say they were the only shoes that felt right on her extremely flat feet.
When she died, each of the grandkids was offered a chance to take mementos from her belongings, and I chose this pair of shoes. They may not win many style points, but when I wear them, I’m literally walking in someone else’s shoes. I hope I can live up to even half the wonderful life my grandmother spent in those shoes.
And you know what? Her sandals are actually are pretty comfy!
I love you, Nonie. Can’t wait to see you again.
