I think it’s fair to say that sunshine makes everyone a little bit crazy. I’m pretty sure it’s just one of those weird English things, but in the North it seems particularly extreme. I kid you not, when the sun shines in Manchester, people go crazy. At even the faintest hint of a sunny day, you can guarantee you’ll see a whole hoard of pasty guys with their shirts off walking to Sainsbury’s (this is no exaggeration, the other morning it was mildly sunny and the guy in front of me on the 10am bus was in shorts and flip-flops). So anyway, whilst some people go crazy for topless sunbathing and BBQs any time the sun comes out in Manchester, I on the other hand seem to feel the need to dress as if I am going to a festival as soon as it gets sunny! Even today, when I was stuck inside revising all day, the sunshine made me want to throw on this gorgeous mint green playsuit, a floral headband, and pretend I was at Glastonbury (unfortunately my day was full of music revision rather than music festival). Oh well, if I can’t go and play out in the sun, I can at least dress like I’m going to, eh?
