Hiiiiiiii
Today Libby and I met up with editor Monique of PetiteAvenue for coffee! [See the second photo, where I look reeeeeal good] She looked really cute today in her 15/30 challenge outfit which amazed me. When I first heard of the challenge I thought it sounded impossible, but now I’m thinking of doing the challenge at some point in the near future… I imagine the hardest part for me will be not shopping for 30 days. We’ll see.
I’m wearing a lot of my favorite casual day clothes — an old, worn in eggshell cardi from H&M, my Levi’s jeans, an elephant print blouse from ASOS, and my new white lace up shoes from French Connection/ASOS for 30% off. I’ve been pretty crazy about the whole tennis uniform for spring to a very high degree (Araks SS12, listening to tennis inspired music and going through images of old tennis players). White tennis shoes, pleated mini skirts, collared T-shirts, utility, sporty style, etcetera have been on my mind since last spring. I’ve been wearing these almost everyday since I got them. They go with everything and give outfits a fresher feel.
I’ve been reading this really great book called I Love Your Style by Amanda Brooks. It covers everything from different styles, fashion icons, to special pieces for your wardrobe, and it’s focused on style and personality more so than trends and “looking good”. It’s such a great encyclopedic type book (thanks Shameemah for giving me the copy) with pretty inspiration photos and a lot of commentary. Brooks is a bit higher end (she was definitely privileged growing up) and you can tell when she references herself and her childhood. Still, I highly recommend it to any woman who takes a little extra time getting dressed in the morning. It’s the best style manual type book I’ve ever read.
Anyways, the weather is amazing today so I hope everyone’s enjoying the first real days of spring! & happy 15th monthiversary :}
