We’re already way into March (happy late St. Patty’s day?) and we’re just about ready to add a new batch of awesome editors to our already amazing, super sweet and stylish masthead of EIU editors!
Why should you join? Because EIU promotes its editors, gives you the opportunity to work with cool people, attend cool events, 500 Chic Points per post towards redeeming free stuff in Chic Rewards, AND a chance to win a trip to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (the top three editors come with us during New York fashion week with a travel stipend)! FASHION NEWS EDITOR
The Fashion News Editor is like a reporter — he/she follows high fashion like a hawk. This is the right position for you if you follow news blogs like The Cut and you’re able to recognize trends in the fashion industry. You can tell what’s an impactful news story and write about it with your own personal commentary. Articles would include runway and collection recaps, collaboration news, fashion designer/house drama, and anything else of the like.
INSPIRATION EDITOR
The Inspiration Editor is constantly surfing the interwebs for style inspiration. You get inspired not just by collections and pretty images, but by music, film, literature, photography, and all other art forms. You must have a distinct point of view, a knack for finding beautiful things, and a way of inspiring others. If you make mood boards or collages, that’s a sure sign that you’re fit to apply for this!
THRIFTING EDITOR
Are you a vintage maven? The Thrifting Editor will be discussing all things that have to do with vintage. Your strongest suit is that you’re able to reinvent thrifted pieces into modern looks. The Thrifting Editor will give readers tips and help us style pieces that can be found at local vintage shops.
TEEN EDITOR
The Teen Editor writes about all things in teen world — high school, dorm life, not being able to afford expensive clothes, tons of inspiration from the interwebs, mean girls, all that jazz. Besides focusing on school, you have a strong love of fashion. You must be a teenager to qualify for this position.
FASHION WRITERS
We’re always looking for inspirational fashion lovers who like to DIY, play dress up, do crazy things to their nails, or spot out the next hottest designer! If you think you’ve got an eye for fashion and you’d like to contribute, feel free to apply with specific topic ideas in mind.
If you think you fit the bill for any of these positions, send us an e-mail to editor@chictopia.com with a writing sample, your blog URL or Chictopia profile (if you don’t have one yet, that’s okay), your schedule for posting every week, and tell us why you should write for EIU. Your e-mail must contain some form of a writing sample to be accepted— make sure it’s reflective of what you’d write for EIU. Applications will be rolling. You must be 13 or older to apply.
We go through rounds of many applications every day. Please be patient with us in our response and send us one application. Read: don’t send us multiple e-mails in one day.
