This is how I style the Peach V-neck Dress from my Spring 2012 collection. I designed the dress to have a plunging neckline with a gathered silk waistband which adds emphasis onto the natural curves of a woman’s body. Unfortunately for me, I don’t have a lot of natural cuves so I made up for it by styling this dress with a sweet little eggshell cardigan. :) The hat that I am wearing is one of my favorites from my vintage hat collection. I found it at a cool little shop on Polk street a couple years ago with one of my friends. Last year when I was window shopping at Bloomingdales I fell in love with a Kate Spade straw handbag, and I have been obsessed ever since. I didn’t end up getting it because I’m a starving artist so when I came across these vintage straw handbags, I knew I had to design my own! I reconstructed the handbags to style with my lookbook for Spring 2012. I am just as happy with my Alyssa Nicole straw handbags as I would have been with a designer bag. I have been making all my own clothes for the past 4 years so I have come to terms with my starving artist/DIY lifestyle as a designer on a budget :)
