I wore this outfit to work earlier this week. After a dreary, wet winter, we had a bit of a mild and sunny day, therefore I had to wear something that reflected teh weather (and my mood). This is one of my favourite dresses because the pattern is so bright and cheery. It’s a 70’s piece with long sleeves. I paired it with the Forever 21 jacket to make it a bit more “work appropriate” (and also because my office is freezing!), and carried the colour of the blazer through to my purse.
The fun thing about this outfit (besides the colours!) is that two of the items are family heirlooms. The real pearl necklace belonged to my Grandmother and I inherited it when I wore it as the maid-of-honour in my sister’s wedding. As well, the bag hold a few memories for me. It’s originally from Honduras, where my father went on a mission trip. I was about 7 or 8 years old when he went, and he returned with a few gifts (the bag being one of them). I remember he brought me a beautiful handmade dress, but some how this handmade leather bag is the one item that has survived. It has been passed between my sister and I.
