The Fall/Winter 2012 collection shown by Nanette Lepore at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was inspired by “tarot reading with Oscar Wilde”. The bright punchy colours and the tarot inspired patterns were a tailored bohemian chic. With rich hues like chartreuse, cyan, mulberry and amber, not a neutral color was in sight. Finished with small touches of lace, beading and gold lame pieces brought a sophisticated flair to the bright colors. With the models walking down the runway to songs by The Beatles and The Velvet Underground, it was clear that everything about this collection was about having fun.
Blogger Keiko Lynn, from Brooklyn, came walking out of the show wearing pretty layers in a distinctly spring-y palette. She loved the fun, colourful designs that came down the runway. She was happy (and is sure that the models were happy as well) to see some cute flats on the runway!
INSET: Keiko’s favourite look from the show
Rob Keffer, a buyer at Macys was spotted walking out of the show in wonderful coloured denim and a dapper bowtie. He enjoyed the sophisticated color palette of the collection. While her last collection was filled with intense neons, he was happy to see the colours transitions smoothly into the new season.
INSET: the deep flame reds and sophisticated colours that Rob loved
Glenn from Buffalo was seen walking along with a pretty peach sheer fishtail skirt. She has a relative that works for Nanette Lepore and loved the bright colors and patterns in the collection. She liked the silhouttes and thought the designs were young and fresh.
INSET: The lime green dress with a bottom ruffle was Glenn’s favourite look
The blogger behind De Lune, Claire, looked amazing in her jeweled sweater. She enjoyed the rich jewel tones of the collection and was especially excited that Nanette Lepore was inspired by Oscar Wilde for her Fall/Winter 2012 show.
INSET: The beautiful printed boots that caught Claire’s eye during the show
Plenty of celebrities were seen in the front rows of the shows. We spotted multi-talented Kristin Chenoweth, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle from Gossip Girl, Arianna Huffington of the Huffington Post, Actor Stanley Tucci and model Tyson Beckford.
