This is how I style the ruffle peplum skirt and bishop sleeve blouse from my Fall 11 collection for a day of running errands in soma. The texture on the skirt is what makes this chiffon piece really unique, I have designed and made peplum skirts before, but this one of definitely one of my favorites. The bishop sleeve blouse was originally designed to be in a crimson silk georgette, but I ended up making a few in black as well. A black silk blouse is definitely a closet staple if you have a million high waist skirts like I do :). I have been kinda lazy with my hair lately and just through it up into a high bun. I have spent the whole year waiting and waiting for my hair to grow out, and now that it is completely grown out, I just don’t even want to deal with it. I have been debating on if I should cut it again or not because its kinda scary when my hair gets caught in the sewing machine(yes, that really happens!). Short hair & short nails seem appropriate for someone who spends their whole days cutting patterns, draping fabrics, and sewing.
So now that I have finished launching my Spring 12 collection, I am going into full force working on my Fall 12 collection. I spent the whole weekend working on patterns. And I’m pretty sure if my pattern drafting teacher knew that…she would have a freaking heart attack! I had to take my pattern drafting class twice because it was so difficult for me. This collection for Fall 12 has been a work in progress since last July, so it should be interesting to see how the whole project unfolds.
