Lingerie is meant for those who, with or without a hot date planned, like to have a little fun and spice up their wardrobes with sexy undergarments (yes, your underwear still counts as a part of your wardrobe). Here are some of our favorite luxury lingerie lines that you should know, along with a couple of the sexiest pieces to inspire you for any night!
THE ARTISTIC GIRL
→ Brand: Araks
Ever since I saw the Araks Spring 2012 collection last year, I have been obsessed with the Parsons grad fashion designer Araks Yeramyan. Not only does Yeramyan have a great retro, Sofia Coppola-esque ready-to-wear line (her underwear was famously worn by Scarlett Johansson in Coppola’s film Lost in Translation), but her lingerie is a one of a kind. Its simplicity and Lula-esque feel with its sheer fabrics and perfect cuts makes for an ethereal lingerie line.

→ Yanelis bralett wisp in white
→ Alex teddy in fog
THE CLASSIC GIRL
→ Brands: Damaris and Mimi Holiday
Damaris Evans is a wonderful lingerie designer who I had the pleasure of interviewing while living in London. This Saint Martins grad was the first to design the “cheeky” panties (think butt cleavage) which caused a knicker uproar for the sexiest pair of panties. Damaris was the first lingerie brand to ever show at any Fashion Week and designer Evans was even invited to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen for a celebration of British designers. Her line Damaris is one of the most sought after luxury lingerie lines for the feminine and beautifully sexy woman, and her newer line Mimi Holiday offers women some pretty silk pieces for a more affordable price.

→ Club Tropicana suspenders
→ Granita Naked bra

THE WILD GIRL
→ Brand: Agent Provacateur
Of course, Agent Provocateur has to be on this list. The epitome of sexy lingerie all began with British designers Joseph Corré (son of Vivienne Westwood) and Serena Rees in the 90’s. The line is synonymous with nipple tassels and kinky lingerie that brought on a burst of powerful sexuality to the British fashion scene (if you haven’t seen that controversial commercial with Kylie Minogue riding a mechanical bull in Agent Provocateur lingerie, you should – although a warning: it’s NSFW). Agent Provocateur has a large selection of lingerie, great suspenders, and kinky toys.

THE INTIMATE GIRL
→ Brand: Kiki de Montparnasse
Upon looking through lingerie lines, I came across Kiki de Montparnasse, a luxury brand that “celebrates intimacy and inspires the romantic imagination”. Their elegant pieces include a fun over-sized garter tank which I had never seen before. Casual yet sexy, this white top would go so perfectly over undergarments! Focusing heavily on intimacy, the brand also offers art (romance films, why not?), mood setters like candles and soaps, and toys for the bedroom. Definitely a brand for the casual girlfriend who likes to have fun.
