I love velvet. It’s such a wonderful texture and it always comes in such beautiful colors. The way the light reflects through the fibers enhances the color so beautifully. I was curious as to how it was made, and apparently the best velvets are made with silk. I had seen different types of velvet which I thought was more beautiful than others, but I never knew why! Velvet has been produced in one for or another for approximately 4,000 years. It is so delicate that it has to be dry cleaned. There’s even a special board for steaming velvet so you don’t crush it and warp its appearance! There I go, nerding out about velvet! I love learning weird facts about things I love ?
