This day was just one in the midst of a rutty week. I had errands to run and really did not feel like getting dressed. I literally started grabbing things from a pile of wrinkled (but clean) clothes on my bed. It started with the tunic top and leggings. I only own 3 pairs of sneakers and none of them matched. I also don’t own a casual coat or jacket that was suitable for the cold. I took to my coat closet where my overflow if shoes and boots are and pulled out a pair of grey kitten heel boots and this fabulous leather and twill jacket that my boyfriend bought me. I was inspired to accessorize and tie the look together. I cool striped scarf, striped gloves and grey tinted sunnies made the look seem a lot less plain. In this sea of neutrals, I thought a pop of color was needed so I grabbed my faux croc tote. Not too bright a color but enough to liven up my look. I went from feeling really drab to feeling chic. Its not super fashion forward and may not be that inspiring but compared to what I was going to leave the house wearing, I can say this is pulled together! I learned a valuable lesson this day: Just because you are in a rut doesn’t mean you have to look like it! Always keep it chic!
Tip: Keep a stash of easy separates like leggings and tunics for errand running. Pull a simple look together with cool accessories that will ad personal style and flavor. Pick up random inexpensive accessories from stores like Forever 21, wal-mart and target. They’ll come in handy on those days when you just dont seem to have anything quick and simple to wear.
