Summer is here!
And that means bbq’s, outdoor activities, outdoor movies, you know… summer things.
Now, I personally hate summer. I miss layering, stockings, thick rich fabrics, etc. And one look at the style gallery will tell you: there’s only so many ways one can style a t-shirt and shorts.
Today I looked around for a summer outfit alternative. The obvious inspiration was Luella s/s 08. But it’s way too hot for a blazer. Instead, I tried pairing it with a nice lightweight viscose vest in a size larger than normal to get that menswear fit.
Lace up oxfords are also a nice alternative to heavy ankle boots which (although fierce) are not appropriate for hot summer days. In fact, I will go ahead and say that those who wear misplaced fall items in the middle of a heat wave look rather weird. Weird in a bad way. Not in a unique/ want to be me way.
Now I feel all ready for summer. And if it gets even hotter, I can always stick my vest in my bag. It’s all about appropriating, kids.
Any other tips for beating the summertime NON-inspiration?
