I’m currently in love with button up shirts, which somehow in my mind logically progressed to bolo ties and bow ties….and then Bow-Lo ties…(seemingly there’s some sort of cheesy uncle comedy routine deep within me, making it so that I CANNOT say no to a good pun)
The bow portion of the tie is made of off-cut or recycled leather. Some colours are from vintage clothing I’ve cut up, some from a local supplier who sells leather scraps. The bow is securely held together with a metal rivet that goes through all the layers. A metal bolo tie backing is attached to the bow at the back. The ties themselves are nylon/poly cording in black. The tips are one of the best parts of this piece, a good bolo needs a weighty tip for maximum swinging motion! This colour combo has a great arrowhead brass tip that I’m in love with…I was so excited when I found these!
As are all bolos this necklace is completely adjustible, and can be worn with the bow tight at the collar, swinging low as more of a necklace, or any length in between.
My amazingly stylish friend Izzy recently picked one of these up from me and has been kind enough to let me use the gorgeous photos she took of herself for her blog, a MUST READ!
