shut down the city

The tension is building. Six inches of snow is on its way! Shut down Seattle!

In preparation, the city has been salting the roads for like a week. The weatherman keeps delaying the arrival of the big storm system. I’m sure it’s all a joke.

What’s funny, is it’s not that cold. There may be snow, but you don’t feel like you’re dying when you go outside. That means with the right layering, I can get by without a coat. Loose fitting layers work best, as they create air pockets that keep you warm. The beret may not be close fitting, but the brim keeps snow off my face and provides some warmth, too.

Now I am just hoping my husband doesn’t get trapped somewhere, like he did last year!
