I’m just going to put it out there before anyone else does. Leggings are not trousers. Now, normally that line is one of my fashion mantras that I would probably swear by enough to mutter under my breath walking down the street when someone wearing leggings and a t-shirt (or even worse, leggings and a crop top…) walks past. Ok, ok, I took that a little too far – I don’t mean to offend any leggings-lovers out there – but what I’m really trying to say is that thanks to this top, all my non-leggings rules have gone out the window! For such a simple looking top, it is so statement. The chic cut, the sherbert-lemon colour and the flowing oversized shape mean that you want as little going on on your bottom-half as possible (hence the leggings)!
Pastel colours (especially lemon yellow) are going to be absolutely huge for S/S 2012. I can’t wait to wear this baby tucked into a girly skirt or, even better, with some candy-coloured chinos, but for now I decided to dress for the cold by pairing it with black, black and black…and my trusty leopard print coat. And I really like this look, what do you think?
FYI, this gorgeous top is from the upcoming Vero Moda S/S collection, which should be in store in March/April. Pretty sure I’ll be wearing it a lot this spring!
