Whenever asked what our family does for holidays, I honestly can’t remember. I don’t think us Cali folks really value Christmas like other families do (or maybe it’s just my Asian Cali parents). Since moving to Indiana for college, I experienced a much more enlightened holiday cheer. Everyone seems excited for the Christmas songs, extra baking spectacular, holiday movies, and the merry decorations. I personally think Christmas songs are cheesy; my mom can try to bake; our family never really watch movies anyway; and we only hang lights because our neighbors do.
Wow, I sound like a Grinch, but I think every family just celebrates holidays differently and in different degrees. For example, I believe we are having a cleaning party on Christmas morning this year. Now, that really makes me want to get out of bed in the morning.
