Along with the trip to Milan, Nicole and I also went to Venice. Her parents drove us (about a three hour drive) to the beautiful city. Once arriving, we took a boat ride along the Grand Canal. It was the perfect way to view all the homes along the water. It’s amazing to think the houses are still standing after hundreds of years- on water nonetheless! In one of the windows I saw a Christmas tree with ornaments and a golden chandelier hanging from the ceiling!
Some of the famous attractions in Venice was the Piazza San Marco. It’s in the main square surrounded by fancy shops and cafés. While I was there I noticed a lot of Venetian Glass- they are sold in almost every shop. Carnival masks and glass jewelry are popular souvenirs. We ate at a delicious restaurant where I had REAL Italian pizza. It was soooooo good I can’t even explain! I will never be able to eat american pizza again.
As for my outfit, I dressed warmly because it was quite cold. In the first picture you can see the guy rowing the gondola in a puffer coat! I was wearing cheetah print pants paired with a black jacket. To accessorize, I wore my Trouvé booties, faux fur headband, fingerless gloves, and my Givenchy necklaces. I had a huge puffer coat too, but I took that off for the pictures. Poor Nicole was freezing her hands off by the end of the shoot! I took some photos of her outfits too, you can see them on her blog Organized Chaos.
Ever since I saw the movie The Tourist (with Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolie) I’ve always wanted to visit Venice. While walking through the tight side streets and window shopping, I almost felt as if I was back in time. The buildings are just as they were years ago- it’s a very intriguing place.
Ta-taa for now,
