This is actually an old photo from this summer. I wanted to post something straight away, so I searched my hard drive for the perfect first-post picture.
I chose this picture because it was a really special day. I went to the botanical gardens with my friend Aaliyah to see the lanterns being lit at night. It was a really great day because even if we’ve been best friends since we were eight, we hardly ever get the chance to hang out because she’s alway so busy.
The top was actually my mum’s, but it was too small for her so I took it. It was still a little big around the waist, so I brought it in on the sides.
I found the skirt at a charity shop for five dollars and I instantly fell in love with the colour and fabric. However, it was so shapeless, didn’t fit over my waist, and went down to my ankles. I cut off the bottom and re-hemmed, and moved the buttons around to make it fit.
Like everything else that I own, the shoes were too big too, so I just wore socks with them. Whoever said that wearing socks and sandals is a no was being silly, I reckon that it turned out to be cute!
