This is a blog post as part of Chictopia’s Week of Giving. My charity of choice for this campaign would be The Heart Foundation as I believe that awareness is key in avoiding this disease. Check out the charity organisation here
There is a heart attack every 11 minutes in Australia, and they are as common in women as they are in men. With a heart attack, every minute counts and people often are not aware of the warning signs and dont call for help in time. A regular check up could potentially save a life, and helping to spread awareness can save millions.
After seeing my grandmother suffer through several surgeries before, I am glad my extended family goes for regular checks up due to our history of chronic heart diseases.
Do vote and favorite my look if you’re interested in helping The Heart Foundation spread awareness about heart diseases. In the last decade, heart disease rates went down 40% in Australia, however we still have a long way to go as heart diseases can happen to just about anyone, and can be avoided by being well-informed.
