My charity of choice this season is the Khan Academy. The best free learning resource online.
I vote for the "Khan Academy:http://www.khanacademy.org/ because its mission is to offer free education for everyone around the world. The idea is that if someone has a computer and internet, was set up by Salman Khan, a former banking dude and MIT graduate who started doing education videos on the side to teach his niece how to do match. When his other relatives asked him for similar help, he started putting his videos on Youtube for more people to see. His videos have gained popularity and was watched by Bill Gates and his kids to learn various subjects.
Salman Khan quit his job a few years ago to do this full time, and has since expanded his library of videos to lessons on K-12 and college level math, science, history, and various other subjects. Like an interactive Wikipedia, but broken down in 15 minute episodes.
Here are some of my favorite videos from the Khan Academy:
The French Revolution:
Monet’s The Argenteuil Bridge
Economics of a cupcakes factory
