I have always been an animal lover, and for Chictopia’s Week of Giving I think Chictopia should donate to the ASPCA. The ASPCA is a well known organization that believes animals are entitled the same respect as humans and fights against animal cruelty. The ASPCA is a great organization because they help victims of animal cruelty and then finds loving families to adopt and take home animals in need. Read more about the ASPCA here
I think animal cruelty is disgusting and its definitely something I have a hard time understanding, I wonder why anyone would want to harm an animal? As a fashion designer, I have decided I will never use real fur in any of my designs because of the animal cruelty that has been linked with fur farms. I think wearing faux fur, like the faux fur hat and faux fur collar I am wearing in my pic, is so much better then wearing real fur. I feel like wearing real fur is like wearing your pet, and thats so gross to me, I would never want to do that especially after knowing an animal was harmed in the process.
Recently my cousin and I rescued an injured kitten, Chewie, who was abandoned wrapped inside a sheet and tucked under a car. I was so disgusted and disturbed with how the kitten was found, my cousin heard the kitten meowing outside for a few days before realizing it was stranded and left alone. To make matters even worse, we discovered he was injured and did not have a back paw. I had a friend who worked with a vet take a look at his injury and they said it didn’t look like an accident, which broke my heart. I used all the funds earned from my Fashion’s Night Out event to take care of Chewie and to take him to the vet and luckily he did not have any infections. Chewie is healthy and will learn to live a long happy life with only 3 paws. I am glad that I was able to help the injured kitten by taking him to the vet and finding a good home with my cousin for him, but there are a lot of people who may not have the means to help animals such as Chewie. Donating to the ASPCA would be helpful to animals in need who do not have loving families who are able to rescue them.
